Austin Python Meetup – April 2017

Viach Kakovskyi made a strong case for beginning all new projects at Version 3, including looking at migrating older production code that is expected to serve well into the future.

Peter Wang made an interesting point about old production code.  When support for Version 2 ends in 2020, organizations are likely to face pressure to make a more complex migration to even more complex “leading edge” platforms.

Dustin Ingram came into town and gave a short but very entertaining talk about ethical hacking.  The discussion consensus was that most enterprises would prefer to prosecute rather than thank anybody for ferreting out their digital or process weaknesses.
